Hero Marketer

Facebook ads placement exclusions

Meta spreads a small B2B budget across placements that never buy.

Meta’s defaults were built for ecommerce: they spread a budget across every placement, so you end up paying for clicks from partner apps and sites that never become leads. Hero Marketer’s Facebook ads placement exclusions flag the placement spending without results each morning. You approve the block, and Undo takes it back.

Campaigns you build here skip Audience Network.

Meta's default lets a budget run on every placement. A Traffic or Leads campaign built in Hero Marketer sends none of its budget to Audience Network from the first day.

What comes next

Blocking a placement is where
wasted Meta spend stops.

Nothing is blocked until you approve it. Audience Network, Facebook Marketplace and the Facebook right column get a one click block. Reels, Stories and Threads get the steps in Ads Manager.

Common questions

What to know before you try Facebook ads placement exclusions.

Will a block affect all my campaigns?

Yes. A block covers every campaign in the ad account, because Meta has started removing placement controls from ad sets in Leads campaigns. The approval card says so first, and Meta can take up to 48 hours to apply it.

Is this better than excluding placements in Ads Manager myself?

It can be, if you don't open the placement report every week. Hero Marketer reads it each morning and shows what the placement cost before you approve anything.

Can I undo a block?

Yes. Undo removes only the placement you blocked and leaves the rest of your account as it was.

Which placements can it block?

Audience Network, Facebook Marketplace and the Facebook right column. For Reels, Stories and Threads there is no one click block, so Hero Marketer gives you the steps in Ads Manager.

What do Facebook ads placement exclusions cost?

Signing up is free. The morning check is part of the daily checks, which cost 0.25 credits a day for each connected ad account, about $7.50 a month. Asking Hero AI about a placement usually costs about 0.2 to 1.5 credits. Credits come in $20 packs with no monthly fee, and unused credits are refundable within 90 days of purchase.

Built for

Whoever owns the Meta Ads number in B2B SaaS.

The CEO’s question, answered with evidence.

You inherited Meta, and sales says the leads are junk. Hero AI follows each ad set to demos, not leads, and asks before it pauses anything.

Why are Meta leads cheap but nobody books a demo?

Leads cost $55, but 2 of 60 booked a demo, so a demo costs about $1,650. Many leads are students on Gmail. Pause the cheapest ad set and judge Meta by demos.
